Peak-Time
In 2024, 32% of mothers with children under six were not in the labor force. This is a participation gap largely driven by schedules that don’t fit the day of a new parent. Taking it a step further, the national average cost of child care hit $13,128 a year, pushing many families to the edge where returning to full-time work is effectively income-neutral. We have not evolved the workday in decades, and it’s time for a new option. We have Full-time, Part-time, and now, Peak-Time.
Peak-Time is a practical part-time option for modern families and high performers who cannot maintain a full 9-5 schedule because of outside commitments. We are upfront about that with our employers and potential candidates. We co-design roles with companies and government agencies where work is done between 10am–2pm and offer competitive compensation.
With this program, employers get to keep great people whose family situations may be changing, hire talent previously unavailable to them, improve core productivity, and open a dignified on-ramp for parents ready to come back. The workday hasn’t changed in decades; the evidence says it must.
